Stratton is keeping with tradition and planning a season full of extraordinary events. From the upcoming opening day celebrations during Thanksgiving weekend to the pond skimming competition in late Spring, Winter 2010-2011 is going to be a busy – and undeniably memorable – season.
And with 220 million gallons of water on reserve and one of the most powerful snowmaking systems, Stratton's "snow guarantee" is not an empty promise. The resort's mad scientists in snowmaking and grooming are hard at work all winter long securing the top conditions for New England's thrill seekers. Significant upgrades have been made to our snowmaking and grooming capacity with the latest in snow gun technology.
Also new this year at Stratton include family friendly improvements to the Tubing Park and a redesign of the snowboardcross course which will get expert testing in December during our very first snowboardcross camp hosted by Ross Powers and benefiting the Ross Powers foundation. We are also excited to host the U.S. Freestyle Championships, March 22-27, featuring the best amateur skiers in the nation.
