Once cold weather settled in the first week of December Stratton’s snowmakers had perfect conditions to allow them to lay down a deep white carpet. Every skier benefited from the huge snow making system that Lynn Capen, Stratton’s master snowmaker, and his team ran full out day and night. The mountain was almost hidden in a man-made cloud as day after day, snow guns were running full out. Mother Nature soon kicked in and the powder skiers got their first tastes of the “real stuff”.
